Silkscreen-frames

Professional screen printing frames

We sell different types of screen printing frames. You can use these screens with emulsion and exposure, but we are more of a fan of screen printing with stencils. You attach the water-resistant stencil under the window and you can start screen printing immediately!

We recommend screen printing frames with aluminum frames because they are always super tight made by machine. There are also silkscreen frames with wooden frames, but these are often stretched by hand, resulting in an uneven tension of the mesh and therefore less beautiful prints.

A screen printing frame consists of all threads that are stretched crosswise by machine on the frame. The fewer threads, the larger the openings in the mesh and the more ink will pass through them. The more threads, the smaller the holes in the hole and the less ink will pass through. This is called the mesh density and expressed in a number and a letter T (threads). That goes for example from a mesh with 24T to 140T. The lower the number, the more ink will pass through.

For example, for textiles you can use 32T / 54T and for materials that are smooth, such as glass and metal, you can use a 120T screen.

An excellent screen printing screen for both light and dark textiles is a window with mesh density 54T.
For paper we recommend a screen with a mesh density of 90T.
